Alright, so everyone wants

Alright, so everyone wants details so here we go.......

She wore a light blue shirt and capris. I wore a dark blue dress shirt and a brown pair of khakis. We arrived at Applebee's at 5pm, and ordered their Appetizer Sampler to start off with, and we both ordered unsweet teas with Lemon.

And that's when things started to unravel.........

As we were talking and enjoying our appetizer, my phone rings. And the ONE person I did not want calling me unfortunately did.

And I ain't talking about April either. I'm talking about our good friend, Shiek Abdullah Farrouk.

Apparently, he was talking to Packer earlier in the day, and my good friend from Georgia let it slip that I was out on a date with Sidney. Nevertheless, he calls and wants to know if he can talk to this 'Sid of Knees'. Reluctantly, I hand her the phone and within 10 seconds, he's already asking her for his hand in marriage. While she's trying to explain to him that she don't know him, our waitress shows up and takes our order: She orders the the Shrimp and Parmesan Sirloin, and I order the Steak and Riblets. Needless to say, after talking to the Shiek, she instantly orders a Strawberry Lime Margarita and I'm on the phone with local cab companies, trying to to figure out how much the cab fare will be for a 50 mile trip home. About 20 minutes later, we each get our meals, only to find out that the cook's 'purposely' didn't put my fries on my platter because they wanted to fry a new batch. So the fries that were ACTUALLY meant for me, wound up on Sidney's plate. So yes, technically, she DID 'steal my fries'. I did get my fries on a nice little saucer about 10 minutes later, when I was too full to eat them.

We did somehow manage to enjoy our meal, as I was apologizing up and down for the Shiek's behavior, and surprising to me, she understood. So we go to the movie theatre and watch State of Play. And yes, if you like edge of your seat suspense with non-stop action, you will LOVE this movie. The movie hasn't even begun yet, and I suddenly realize something.

This hunk of a man.........This Macho Man......that stands 6'1 and weighs in the neighborhood of 260 pounds......I forgot until it was too late......that I'm afraid of the Dark.

The second the lights went dark, I screamed like a giddy school girl on prom night and scared her. I 'accidentally' grabbed her hand, and she grabbed mine.....and for the next 2 hours, we didn't let go.

After the movie, we walked around Wal-Mart for about 30 minutes before finally heading home. And as she dropped me off (yes, she did drop ME off because well, I have no car and no license), she gave me a huge hug and said she enjoyed the night. I told her she had no idea how much I did not want this night to end. And then I looked into her eyes and for the first time in over 3 years, I felt something I hadn't felt in what seemed forever.......my heart beating non-stop in an excited pace.

I told myself that I don't do hugs. So I took the big risk and slowly leaned in. And I kissed her gently. It was the softest, most gentle kiss I have ever had in my life. And next thing I know......I couldn't stop. FINALLY, I had to literally pull myself away, even though I didn't want to.

The old saying goes 'Good things come to those who wait'. And in my case, this was well worth it. I told her I wanted to see her again, and she agreed. I told her that I don't think I could've asked for anything more out of this night. But if I did have ONE regret about it, it was the fact that I wished we had done this sooner, because I feel like she has been the only constant in my life this past 12 months. She's been there the whole time, just waiting for me patiently to come around. And slowly, I did. And I have.

But things are different now with me. I'm not rushing into anything, because I want to enjoy every single second with her and not forget anything.

So yes, tonight was 'Mission Accomplished'.

And Packer.......I'm kicking your ass for giving my number to the Shiek.
